Spain Emotion

Spain Emotion 2008 was an important early moment of international exposure for Alex Selma and Clara del Portillo. The exhibition in Japan brought together a selection of Spanish design works that expressed a contemporary sensibility rooted in clarity, material exploration and refined form.

Participating in Spain Emotion offered a context in which ideas developed in earlier years could be seen within a broader cultural conversation, revealing how emerging Spanish design was engaging with simplicity, proportion and spatial balance. For both designers, the experience affirmed a shared interest in conceptual clarity and precision, reinforcing directions that would continue to shape their collaborative practice in the years that followed.
