Banga for LZF
Rhythm woven into space
Banga is a lamp that emerges from the exploration of light as a sculptural material. Its form is defined by rhythmic wooden blades that interact with light and shadow, creating an expressive yet calm presence. The design transforms a simple architectural motif into a luminous object that feels open and dynamic. Banga’s structure channels light with sensitivity and fluidity, while the subtle articulation of its components generates a sense of movement and warmth. The lamp becomes a bridge between material tactility and luminous presence, enriching space with atmosphere and visual rhythm.
The aim was to design a lighting piece that balances formal expression with material honesty. The lamp had to offer a strong identity while maintaining a refined and versatile presence suitable for diverse environments. The challenge was to combine structure and light in a way that feels both expressive and serene.
The design process focused on the interplay between geometry, material and light. Wooden lamellae were arranged to modulate luminous intensity and shadow, creating an object that feels alive under changing light conditions. The form evolved through careful study of proportion and visual rhythm, ensuring that the lamp’s presence remains composed regardless of scale or context. Material selection and detailing were calibrated to accentuate both warmth and precision.
Banga becomes a lighting object that celebrates light as a shaping force. Its rhythmic wooden composition generates a tactile sense of depth and spatial calm. The lamp enhances interior environments with a thoughtful balance of materiality and light, offering atmosphere and presence that resonate with both residential and contract spaces.
