Classe for Diabla

Classic roots, new language

There is something reassuring about a familiar object. Classe starts from the memory of the classic café chair, an archetype that belongs to our collective visual culture — and explores how it can be redrawn for today. Traditional slatted furniture and the fluid gestures of modernist woodwork become references rather than rules.

The design process was one of reduction and continuity. We softened the geometry, refined the proportions and worked on the transitions between each element, looking for a silhouette that could feel both recognisable and new. The armrest becomes the defining gesture: a continuous curve that brings softness and character to a deliberately simple structure.

The result feels familiar without being nostalgic. A quiet reinterpretation of an everyday typology, where memory and contemporary design meet in a natural way.
