Fil for HC28
Light form with quiet presence
Fil is a sofa that stems from a distilled exploration of line and form. Its design is drawn from a single idea: how to express seating through a continuous gesture that feels both light and substantial. The sofa’s slender profile conceals a thoughtful structural logic, where each volume aligns with a sense of quiet balance. Fil defines space subtly, creating an inviting yet composed presence that resonates across residential and contract environments. The result is a piece that speaks with clarity, calm and an understated architectural poise.
The objective was to create a sofa that feels defined by proportion and spatial intelligence. The design aims to be visually light while offering genuine comfort. Fil had to achieve a presence that enhances a space without overwhelming it, focused on a refined formal identity.
The design process worked through volumes and lines in search of equilibrium. The interaction between the seating plane and backrest was resolved to produce a continuous, rhythmic profile that feels relaxed yet precise.
Proportions were calibrated to ensure balance from every angle. The interplay between slender form and tactile comfort guided the development toward a composition that reads clearly in three dimensions.
Fil becomes a visual anchor without visual weight. Its continuous silhouette and thoughtful proportion make it a sofa that feels both contemporary and timeless. Fil’s design brings ease and clarity to space, offering a calm and composed seating experience that balances presence and restraint.
