Sun for Marset
Presence shaped by material and glow
Sun is a lamp born from the poetic moment of dawn, when light first begins to appear on the horizon and the night’s darkness softly recedes. Yonoh explored this fleeting sensation through a delicate layering of materials that reflect and modulate light in different ways, crafting a luminous object capable of transporting us to that precise moment between night and day.
The design balances presence and subtlety, creating a fixture that brings personality and character to its environment without overwhelming it. A metal case and concave polycarbonate dish surround the LED source, cradled within an off-centre blown-glass sphere. Each material interacts with the light uniquely, producing a warm, welcoming glow that feels both intentional and calming.
Sun is at once prominent and understated, a point of visual interest that harmonizes with its surroundings and fosters an atmosphere of quiet, radiant serenity.
The interplay of materials in Sun is fundamental to its expression. The contrast between metal, polycarbonate and blown glass creates layers of reflection and diffusion, echoing the way natural light evolves at dawn. This material dialogue gives the lamp a rich visual depth and an emotional resonance that goes beyond simple illumination.
