Soft volumes in balance
The piece emerges as a distilled expression of a broader system. A single, continuous volume where seat and backrest are no longer separate elements, but part of the same movement.
The geometry is defined by repetition and rhythm. Soft segments unfold around a circular base, creating a contained landscape that embraces the body while maintaining a clear and controlled outline. The object feels both grounded and dynamic, able to rotate and subtly shift its relationship with the space.
The design focuses on integration. Each element is absorbed into the whole, reducing the reading of parts and reinforcing continuity.
The seat is divided into precise sections that organise tension and construction, while the backrest is built as a sequence of padded volumes that define comfort and identity. Transitions are carefully controlled, allowing the form to remain soft yet exact.
The result is a compact, self-contained piece with a strong presence. A chair that operates as an object rather than a system, yet still retains a sense of flexibility and openness.
The pouf extends this logic. It can work independently or connect with the chair, allowing new compositions to emerge through simple gestures.
