Where mineral surfaces meet architectural light
Inspired by Mediterranean landscapes, the project explores how light can emerge naturally from architectural surfaces. Rather than treating the luminaire as an added object, the design seeks to integrate illumination into ceilings and walls through texture, relief and material.
The starting point was the observation of natural mineral formations shaped by wind, sand and erosion. These subtle geometries were translated into controlled sculptural surfaces that interact with light, creating depth, shadows and a soft atmospheric glow.
Material research played a central role in the process. By working with Crismosil, a mineral-based compound capable of capturing fine three-dimensional detail, it became possible to develop textured surfaces that remain precise and durable while enhancing the diffusion of light.
The result is a family of architectural luminaires where light and material act together. Rather than dominating the space, the pieces create a quiet presence, bringing warmth, depth and atmosphere while remaining seamlessly integrated within the architecture.
