Vintage for Porcelanosa
Ancient material, renewed presence
Vintage is a bathroom collection crafted from marble in three distinct finishes for L’Antic Colonial, a company within the Porcelanosa Group. The design draws inspiration from ancient porcelain sinks supported on wooden structures, transforming that lineage into a contemporary expression that feels both familiar and renewed.
The project explores how to make a material as noble and substantial as marble feel unexpectedly light. Edges and joints are worked with precision, and a single cap covers the sink to conceal the drain, reinforcing a sense of continuity and silence in the form. Continuous marble shelves expand the useful surface while maintaining the material’s inherent elegance and tactility.
Vintage was conceived to bring a distinctive and refined presence to the catalogue, showcasing the virtues of marble through a design that celebrates both simplicity and detail. The collection comprises a simple structure, a double sink version, and a sink with drawers.
The design balances heritage and modernity through its thoughtful synthesis of historical reference and contemporary minimalism. By abstracting the archetype of the porcelain sink, Vintage embodies a quiet sophistication, where the weight of material is counterbalanced by clarity of form and meticulous craftsmanship.
