Aura for Kriskadecor
Texture into space
Aura is a lamp born from the careful transformation of aluminum architectural mesh into a luminous artifact. The design reimagines an industrial material with a delicate, tactile sensibility, revealing how light and surface can engage in a thoughtful dialogue. Aura’s form emerges from a rhythm of vertical threads that modulate light in a controlled and expressive way, resulting in an object that feels both structured and soft. The lamp becomes a spatial presence that animates its environment through texture, shadow and gentle luminosity.
The aim was to use aluminum mesh not as a technical constraint, but as a source of expressive possibility. The challenge was to create a light object that could reveal material qualities while shaping an atmospheric glow. The material had to contribute to the lighting effect, not merely support it.
The design process explored how a seemingly industrial element could be activated by light to create warmth and spatial depth. By working with the inherent verticality of the mesh, the form was composed to capture and diffuse light in a way that feels both elegant and nuanced.
The configuration of the material influences the light’s intensity and pattern, generating a luminous presence that changes with perspective and movement.
Aura becomes more than a luminaire. It celebrates the poetry of material and light, revealing how a humble element can be transformed into an object with emotional and architectural presence. The lamp brings a calm yet expressive presence to space, combining technical thought with visual sensitivity.
